Instructions for upgrading from DISE2001 to DISE2009 Step 1. Extract the files from DISE2009_Schdata_8Oct09.Rar file (or the latest file downloaded from www.dise.in/dise.html) into DISE2009\Schdata folder. Step 2. Execute SchData9.Exe Step 3. Press Enter. Enter valid user name and password to gain access into the Oracle database where you are already having DISE2001 database/tables and data for year 2008-09. Step 4. After successful login into the database select the academic year as 2008-09. Step 5. From the 'Tools' Menu click on 'Generate Data' to generate the data for year 2009-10. Select 'All Blocks' to generate the data for all the blocks of the selected disrict or select individual block to generate the data for the selected block only. Select the year 2009-10 and then click on 'Generate Button'. Step 6. After successful generation of data for year 2009-10 logout from this module. Step 7. Re-login into the School Database module and select the academic year as 2009-10. click on 'Master' Menu and click on 'Prepare database...' and select 'DISE2009 Elementary' option. Step 8. From the 'Upgrade database' screen click on Upgrade button to start upgradation of DISE2001 database into DISE2009. This will also populate the DISE2009 tables (if the 'Populate Tables' check box/option is on). Step 9. Now click on Master->Entities->Manage Master Entities option to Modify/Re-Define your existing state defined Master Enties for ex: Existing Building Status code 10 (Dilapidated) should now be treated as 6 this year. See Image. Step 10. From the Manage Master Entities Screen select the Master Item (ex: 5 - Building Status). Then select the user/State Defined existing value from the list. After the selection of the value system will display the total no of schools attached with this value in Red Color. Step 11. To change the selected value into 'User Defined Value' or 'No Response' select the appropriate Radio button. If you are selecting 'User Defined Value' then kindly provide the value to be replaced with (for ex: 6) in the box and click on proceed. This procedure will convert all the records having building status code 10 to 6. NOTE: Kindly see the Tools->Regional Settings option from the School database Module for State Specific requirements.
